Taqueria Jalapeños: Authentic Mexican Flavors in Santa Cruz

Great location; Perfect casual atmosphere which I enjoy; No frills- Just really great food. Went here on a random whim not expecting to be blown away by the most tasty chille relleno plate I've had as far as I can remember. Almost went back the next day but arrived way before it opened so I got distracted and did something else with a friend that happened by. Honestly, I don't see how this place is not constantly line-out-the-door busy. Maybe I came upon a secret, gate-keeped gem people here try to keep to themselves, lol.

I absolutely loved this place. The vegan burrito was everything I ever wanted in a vegan option. Came with some little chips and choice of mild or spicy sauce. I also got a Mexican coke and then I ascended to heaven . Would absolutely recommend! Service was extremely fast and friendly.

My boyfriend and I are currently soaking up the sun on our vacation in Santa Cruz, and one of our main goals has been to find some outstanding Mexican food. After some research and a few recommendations from locals, we stumbled upon a fantastic restaurant that truly exceeded our expectations. The moment we walked in, the vibrant decor and inviting atmosphere made us feel right at home. We ordered chicken and steak tacos and each one was absolutely delicious. The tacos were peperfectly seasoned. Every bite was a delight, and we found ourselves savoring each dish long after the plates were cleared. The service was exceptional as well; our server was attentive and knowledgeable about the menu, helping us choose the best items to try. We truly appreciated the welcoming vibe created by the staff. Overall, we couldn't be happier with our dining experience, and we have already decided that this will be our go-to spot the next time we’re in town. Thank you for your great service.

This place is the best! We ordered the mole, asada, carnitas and quesa birria tacos, so a little bit of everything. Everything was fire . The meat in every taco was the juiciest, tenderest most succulent and flavorful meat I've ever had, ever. Like I don't want tacos from anywhere else now but here. You seriously need to get in on this.

We had one Super Burrito and one Veggie Burrito! It was very delicious :) The Burritos were huge. The salsa which we got to the Burrito was not spicy at all. But still highly recommend :)

Great walk up spot to get some delicious food to go. We got the agua de Jamaica (not too sweet which we like), the jalapeno wet burrito, and a fish taco. All were delicious and we loved the salsas and chips that came with. Service was quick after ordering and it was just around the block from where we were staying. Would absolutely go back.

Nice spot for a quick lunch. We ordered al pastor and steak tacos, it came with cilantro and onions and lime. Plenty of meat on the tacos, there’s two tortillas per taco, perfect for catching all the meat and making a second taco out of it. The salsa verde is hot!!! Very good. Be prepared to have some messy hands eating the tacos. I would try the burrito next time.

Hidden gem in plain sight! The tacos were absolutely amazing! Try one of each! Prices and service were great! Total dive spot, not fancy at all. Feels like a gas station. Not much room inside to sit but that’s ok, take the meal outside on the curb!
